Unable to generate FICO score

I just ordered the Score Watch but the automatic authentication failed and it asked me to call the customer service to verfiy my identity. Subsequently I called and verified everything. Then the agent said that we do not have enough history to generate a score for you.

I understand that FICO score requires atleast 6 months of credit history to be generated. I got my first credit card on 26th January 2011 so it has exactly been 6 months today. My question is if it should be 6 months from the date of opening your first credit account OR should it be 6 months of credit history reported by the bank?

Has anybody else gone through this situation?

Thanks in advance

Re: Unable to generate FICO score

It is going to require six statements from your credit card reporting so you probably have at least a few more weeks before it becomes available.

Re: Unable to generate FICO score

Thanks for your reply.

However, the minimum scoring criteria as per FICO website is:

  • At least one account that has been open for six months or more
  • At least one undisputed account that has been reported to the credit bureau with in the past six months
  • No indication of deceased on the credit report (Please note: if you share an account with another person this may affect you if the other account holder is reported deceased).

The first bullet apparantly means that it should be six months from the date of opening the credit account.

Re: Unable to generate FICO score

Thank you very much for your responses.

Do you have any idea at what level will my FICO score start at?

I have a total of 3 credit cards. All paid on time. Utilization is 15%. The oldest card is 6 months.

Re: Unable to generate FICO score

That is a VERY tough question to answer. There are as many variables as people in this world to figure into the equation.

This is just a WILD A&& GUESS!

The assumptions I am making are as follows:

You are new to credit.

You are 22 years old. (Plus or minus a year or two.)

You have ABSOLUTELY no credit history. (Good or Bad.)

Your initial score will be somewhere between 660 and 700. I'm thinking 690.

Please stop back and let me know how I did.

Anybody want to know what the Powerball numbers for this coming Saturday will be?

Hey...All you need to do is ask!

Starting Score: EQ 653 6/21/12
Current Score: EQ 817 3/10/20 - EX 820 3/13/20 - TU 825 3/03/20

Re: Unable to generate FICO score

I am pretty much in the same situation. My oldest CC hits 6 months in the middle of April, but I cannot even generate a credit score at Experian yet. TU and Equifax is good though.

I think the advice on 6 statements is spot on to get a FICO score
