Unauthorized inquiry maybe?

I have an inquiry on my TU report that is from Wolpoff and Abramson.  I don't have any adverse accounts listed with their name on it however.  How can I determine if they actually have permissable purpose?   Can sending the Non Authorized Inq letter hurt me at all if this is a valid inquiry, just not something that is listed on my report?

Any account which might be about to go to collections? Wolpoff and Abramson are lowlifes and you should watch your CRs closely.

I shouldn't have anything about to go to collections.  Only old debts from quite a while ago. How do I know which one if any they are looking at?

Re: Unauthorized inquiry maybe?

Thanks Tuscani.  I had already seen that  which is what prompted my asking the question.   The letter is great and I appreciate you posting it.  But since I don't know what it's for and this particular agency seems extremely aggressive, I wondered if sending it could open me up for any reaction on their part.   I also noticed on the Inquiry analysis portion they have my name listed but with in a city I have never even lived in. I have a fairly common name, so I am wondering if they are actually looking for someone else.

If they can prove PP for the Inq then fine.. if not, you are $1000 richer if they do not delete.

Remember, Wolpoff and Abramson are lowlifes. The debt might belong to the princessofmagenta, but that wouldn't stop them from dunning you.

So am I better off just to let sleeping dogs lie then Noah?  I surely don't want them to start harassing me.  Especially when it's not even my darn information.

Re: Unauthorized inquiry maybe?

All depends on you. If all you have is an unauthorized INQ, that's going to barely affect your FICO score. It's up to you whether you wanna fight 'em over the INQ. For me personally, on principle I'd fight 'em if I knew there's wasn't a lingering collection out there.

However, if anything shows up on your CR, or if you get anything in the mail, or all calls, DV them to protect yourself. Does not matter whether it's your debt or not. Does not matter if it's time barred or not. DV.
