Unfair Judgement

I am in the process of rebuilding my credit and I just got signed up for the quartely monitoring. One thing I noticed is that I have two judgements on my report from my housing management company. These debts were paid before the scheduled court date therefore a judegment should not have been entered against me and it should not be on my report? Can this be protested. The payments were made by check so I can prove that I pad it before the scheduled court date? If I can contest it, do I go through the court house or through the CRA? I just graduated from college and I want my credit cleared as I plan to get a new car by the end of the summer and my first condo sometime next year. I don't want anything to get in the way of my plans. Especially something that is incaccurate.

Re: Unfair Judgement

Did you go to the court date?  Did the attorney say they would have the judgment dismissed?

Re: Unfair Judgement

I belive my mother went. I was still in school at the time. My mother is the one who paid it. She pays the rent because I was a college student. I'll ask her if she went to the court date. In the event that she paid it and then did not go to court, does that mean it has to stay on my report?

Re: Unfair Judgement

You would have to go through the process to have it removed.

Most likely since the debt was paid before the hearing, it shouldnt be a major ordeal, but you will still have to go though the proper channels to have it removed.

Im sure like anything else YMMV on the process and results, but in my opinion you will be successful based on the information stated.

Re: Unfair Judgement

There would be no issue of dismissal of judgment as there would have been no judgment if settled pre-trial.

You need a copy of the proceedings showing dispostion of the matter without trial/judgment.
