Unlicensed CA removed collection accounts!

I just realized that none of the collection accounts I had for Mid America Accounts (see details below) were on the FICO reports I pulled on 01/02/08 - I guess that means they were deleted!  If this is the case, I'm super excited.  However, they were still listed on the credit reports I pulled from Identity Guard on 12/31/07 - so I guess I'll wait and see.

Collector:  Mid America Accounts (Doctor's Office) $30, $139, $123, $238, $64

- - filed complaint with AZ Dept of Financial Institutions (CA not licensed)

- - scheduled to drop 06/08, 12/08, 05/09, 05/09, 05/09 

Collector:  Mid America Accounts (Ex's Auto Loan) $2,589

- - filed complaint with AZ Dept of Financial Institutions (CA not licensed)

- - scheduled to drop 07/08

Slowly, but surely . . .

Did those deletes affect your FICO scores?

My increases are above - I'm sure the removal of these collections had some affect on my scores, but I also had other collections deleted so I'm not sure how much is directly attributed to the removal of the Mid America accounts.

do you live in az, or was the ca in az? or both? so the ca has to be licensed in the state you live in? or does it have to be licensed in its owe state? thanks..this could be good news..

Licensing and bonding varies by state - but always where they are trying to collect in (where you are!)

I currently live in Arizona (moved from Kansas in 2003) - the CA is in Missouri.  Arizona, as well as many other states, requires collection agencies to be licensed with the AZ Department of Financial Institutions.  Once I determined the CA was not licensed, I sent letters to the AZDFI, the AZ Attorney General, the MO Attorney General, and the FTC (I also cc'd the CA).  This CA appears to have deleted their collection entries.
