Update on my scores!

Ok last month I paid down almost all my debt to 0. I had the following:

Best Buy - 510.00

Line of Credit - 599.00

Line of Credit - 40.00

Visa- 10,000 (pd it down to 1740)

Lowes- 39.00

Cap 1 - 2073.00

Citicards was at 0, now showing 117.00 (auth user)

As of tonight the 2 lines of credit, the Visa, and Lowes have updated. I am waiting for Capital 1, and Best Buy to update. Citicards last month was at 0, but it updated at 117.00 - so it went up.

I have a ch 7 bk discharged in 2003 and one late from September 2007 on the Visa.

Experian is the only one who updated. With what has happened so far, my score jumped from 644 to 682.  Next update, the Visa will be close to 0 (maybe leave 9 percent in) and citicards will be back to 0. Right now a jump of 38 points. I am hoping to hit over 700 when the next 2 update and higher next month when they are all paid down!!

Now if I want to apply for credit and use Experian, who approves at 682???

Congrats teach. Your overall uti is below 9%. Make sure that ind. util on the larger card is 9% or less and you will be golden. EQ and TU will probably update within the next week or so. Please post back with those results.

Re: Update on my scores!

2nd update. TU updated today and my score went from 644 to 665. They too haven't updated all of the accounts. The simulator still puts me at 725 when all debt is paid down. Guess we will see. Cap one doesn't update until Nov. 11 (a whole week to wait or longer - Equifax is ridiculous). Guess by Dec 1 I might hit the 700's on everything I hope. It has been a long 6 years from bankruptcy to get to this point and I will be happy just to stay here!

Re: Update on my scores!

so in order to see how quickly the credit reports update are you buying new scores almost everyday or what?

i have paid down my cc utilizations from 86% to under 9% last month but have no idea how long i should wait to check the reports again and buy new fico scores.. i figured i should wait 3 months or so.. but you are saying they may update pretty fast?

Re: Update on my scores!

sleek, its more financially feasible to buy a CMS like truecredit and update daily for free (14.95/month) and then pull your FICO's when you see that everything is updated or a change has happened. Hope that helps.

Re: Update on my scores!

I anxiously press the update button nightly on my True Credit report. When  I see that Experian had updated a few reports, I bought one from myfico out of curiousity. I will buy it again when I see them ALL updated (around Dec. 4). But knowing my score from experian helped me yesterday when refinancing my car and lowering my payment by 100.00 a month. The score was exactly what they pulled. I paid them off on October 15 and they are updating now...so it doesn't take that long...equifax is slower than the other 2 though.
