VERY CONFUSED

A few weeks ago, I disputed a few TL's on my EQ report.  I disputed an old C/O as obsolete.  According to my TU report, it was scheduled to drop off in July of this year.  Almost right away, the TL disappeared from myfico  (and TC) and my EQ score went up.  Today, I get the reults from my dispute. It says " additional information provided....prior paying history updated....balance updated....reported correctly".  Date of last activity is listed as 08/2000.  Date of last payment is 09/2000.  Isn't a payment activity?  Anyway, why would TU say drop off in July?  From this updated info, shouldn't it be gone anyway?  Why did it disappear from my power score report and TC, but reappear on my new copy of my EQ report?  And, last but not least...NOW WHAT!???

At this point, I would call EQ and find out what their file shows as the DOFD (date of first delinquency) for this account. EQ may also have that account scheduled to drop off in July, or they could have it scheduled to drop off in August or September - they might not match TU exactly. There seems to be a bit of slop in how each CRA calculates exactly how much time must pass between DOFD and drop-off date. Also, a TL scheduled to drop off in July might mean July 31.

Re: VERY CONFUSED

Thanks Revike.  Would you know why it has gone from the reports frm other sources (myfico & TC)?  You don't suppose they will reinsert do you?

Not sure why it disappeared from the reseller reports (MyFico and TC). Sometimes there is a time delay between what appears on the report directly from the CRA and what appears on a reseller report. And some people have said that disputed items have temporarily disappeared from their CR and returned when the dispute was denied - I don't think that would technically count as a reinsert. I would get the info for EQ and then wait until the drop-off date. Has the account dropped off (and stayed off) your TU report, or is it still there? If it's still there on August 1, then I would contact TU. Be sure to keep a copy of the TU report that stated the drop-off date.
