FICO and vantage score things differently. Vantage is not used by any lenders so it really doesn't matter the score differences. FICO although there are several versions ,is the only one worth worrying about...............
The V3s may not matter to most, but I also find it interesting. Possibly because I like math? I don't know, but I track both, only worry about FICO.
My FICO scores also run higher. FICO has been boring/same for the last couple months. But, my V3s have gone up 18 points. EQ has always been higher than TU on V3... 755 & 759.
My FICO scores... EQ is 773 (no inqs), TU is 756 (4 inqs), EX is 749 (6 inqs). There will be changes in November.. two inquiries fall off of TU & EX, Truck loan will be a year old. Between inquiries & 1yr... hopefully changes to scores.
I think no new accounts since June 1st is making a difference on V3. It seems to react to new accounts more than FICO. I got dinged for two new Chase cards in June. FICO barely moved, V3s more so. They don't seem to consider inquiries like FICO.

and yes, typo on "not" is also thanks to my two dogs.
My vantage scores are high, about 100 points at credit karma,credit.com and sesame credit and self lender's free credit score, than actual FICO scores-650s to 557 fico. I am thinking they do that intentionally to encourage to people to apply credit cards, since they make money off from it?
Contrary to popular beleif VantageScore 3.0 is used by over 2,400 lenders.
A recent study conducted by global management consulting and research firm Oliver Wyman concludes that usage of VantageScore credit scores is deep and mainstream, and that it occurs in all credit categories except the mortgage market.

In my case VS3 splits the difference between Fico 8/Fico 9 models and the older Fico 04 model.
1) VantageScore 3.0 tracks 15 to 25 points lower than my corresponding CRA Classic Fico 8 scores.
2) VantageScore 3.0 tracks 5 to 25 points higher than my corresponding CRA Classic Fico 04 scores.
There are other threads om the forums that discuss differences in scoring attributes among the models. Do a search and read those if that interests you.
VantageScore and Fico get revenue whenever someone uses their model(s) to generate a score. VantageScore and Fico are just scoring models. Sure they want their model to be used over a competitors but, it is 3rd parties such as Credit Karma, Credit Sesame and the MyFico savings center that entice you to apply for new credit. They were developed for that purpose and receive compensation from their "sponsors". [see below from myFICO.]
