Vantage Score

I know the vantage score is not commonly used by lenders but  my score has "not" moved in months even though I continue to pay down my auto, installment, and mortgage balances what gives?  Who's in charge over there??  Smiley Happy

In all seriousness, I would not pay attention to Vantage scoring model.

To me ...it is like panning for fool's goldSmiley Very Happy

Re: Vantage Score

Theres no one in charge. Vantage was created by Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion in 2006. Welcome to MyFICO! Smiley Very Happy

Bigger things in life to wonder about than a Vantage score. Unless its Sync.

Yeah, you're right, waiting on 3 FICO 8 points from TU

Re: Vantage Score

Vantagescore simply weighs credit differently. Unfortunately, we don't have any in depth analysis here as most people tend to mock it rather than consider it the fico competitor that it was designed to be.

Re: Vantage Score

Just checked CK yesterday for the first time in a year... full 65-80 point difference between Fico8 and VS3.  Laughable. Although I went nuts the last 6 weeks... bad boy 🤣

My vantage are 10 points less than real Fico 8's and almost a carbon copy of Fico Bankscore 9's.

Vantage scores only move +/- (4-5) monthly, with different utilization and # of cards reporting.

For me just another score very close to the real ones.

As I'm months away from any new credit moves, I've cancelled my myFICO plan, but for me at least, Vantage 3.0 scores are a tad optimistic compared to my FICO 8 score, but like you mentioned, pretty close to my FICO 9 score; consider the following (scores as of today):

  • FICO:
    • FICO 8: 764 (provided by Experian)
    • FICO 9: 791 (provided by PenFed, not sure which Credit Bureau this is pulled from)
  • Vantage 3.0:
    • EQ: 785 (provided by CreditKarma)
    • EX: 773 (provided by Chase Credit Journey)
    • TU: 790 (provided by CreditKarma)

Chapter 13:

  • Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank (now Bank of Southern California)
  • Filed: 26-Feb-2015
  • MoC: 01-Mar-2015
  • 1st Payment (posted): 23-Mar-2015
  • Last Payment (posted): 07-Feb-2020
  • Discharged: 04-Mar-2020
  • Closed: 23-Jun-2020

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!
