I have a VantageScore question for all you fine folks in myFICO land. I get the big three reports monthly from the sources listed in my sig but I also use Credit Karma to keep an eye on things. I can see that the TU score is not exact (~20 points) but was leery of the VantageScore and wanted opinions on that. If I was to believe the VantageScore they post, I am doing great as I am usually at the top or within a few points of the top, today it was 990 which is as high as it goes according to them. Is there somewhere that you can get a real VantageScore or are they all "simulations"?
Whatever Vantage score you are getting is the REAL Vantage score from TU. It is what it is. Why so interested? It's not very useful.
I agree. The VantageScore from CK is the real deal.

Just wanted to know the validity of the score. I have heard some other posts mention that VantageScore was used for an app.

I know that Chase uses the VS to make some decisions. But the use of the VS is not widespread.

Actually, now that I think about it the "Chase internal credit score" that was on my Chase Freedom welcome letter exactly matched my CK score. All my FICO scores are about 50 pts lower.
