VantageScore

Has  anyone else experienced this? All throughout December my VantageScore has dipped 72 points then in a couple days increased by 72 points, a week went by and it dipped 72 points, up again by 72 points, and again dipped again for no apparent reason.

Re: VantageScore

Vantage 3.0 is a highly technical proprietary algorithm built by the greatest minds of our age to ensure that you have no idea why your credit score fluctuates at the drop of a pin on the other side of the world.

In all seriousness don't worry about it, you can use CK to monitor any changes to items on your report but the score itself is not worth paying attention to.

Well, I haven't seen that degree of variance, but yeah, I've seen some curious cycles.  The only possible Vantage Score interest would be Vantage 4.0 if you're a Sync customer, yet I'm not of any site that offers you a 4.0 score.

Re: VantageScore

More creditors have started using VS scores as a way to trim costs, so they really shouldn't be ignored completely. That said, the important stuff (cars, mortgages, etc.) don't use it and likely won't. VS much more impacted by utilization, and less by payment history, so keep those things under control and it will be fine.

Re: VantageScore

It is not tied to pin dropping, it's proven to be tied to left handed butterfly farts on days ending in y.

Vantage is just flat crazy. Pay a card off? Score goes down. Spend money, score goes up. Payoff that money, score spins the wheel of fortune, then goes sideways. I use it for jokes and to get a very rough idea on is my real score improving or not.

OMG, so very true. Had a car loan  sitting about 50% of its initial amount  that I paid off. All three major bureaus dropped my score from 9-21 points. Totally expected. Vantage? Went up by 76 points.

Re: VantageScore

One good thing I wish FICO would do as Vantage does. I've never had one. It doesnt count paid collections. That would bump many peoples score. So there is a good side of Vantage.

I think FICO 9 does do that? I can't recall off the top of my head.

@OmarGB9 Yes in 9. More talk on here about 8 than 9. Maybe one day it will be all 9 and 8 will be an old version.
