Very Basic HIPAA question

Just want to make sure that I am understanding the HIPAA correctly...if you have already had the bill go to collections, and you paid the bill through the CA, then this process will not work, correct? And if this is the case, once it is a paid collection on your report, then there is really nothing you can do other than the normal dispute methods?

It won't work if you pay the CA.

Re: Very Basic HIPAA question

Thanks guiness. I think you are always the first person to answer my questions. These are already on my report as paid and verified. Oh well, at least they are only reported to one of the reports instead of all three.

Send them a GW letter and ask if they will remove them.

Which CRA is reporting your paid med collection?

Re: Very Basic HIPAA question

EQ is reporting three paid medical collections and one unpaid medical.

TU is reporting two of the above paid med and the same one unpaid med.

There is some good news, none of the med collections are on EX. One last question, how old are these med collections?
