I got my card in June and paid off balances when they posted. So far so good until today when I logged in and saw a $123 charge I didn't make. It looks like the card was also closed saying $0 available of $200. I called and they said there was a charge made yesterday. They said they would submit it to the fraud department and issue me a new card and account immediately. I asked them do I need to go ahead and pay the $123 until it gets sorted out and they said no. Right after the call I was unable to log in to my account so I'm guessing it took effect immediately.
Here's the thing, I'm not stressed about them closing the card if they have in fact closed it. I kind of wish they would have just said "hey, we closed your card" instead of telling me to wait 7-10 days for the new one. Whatever. My real issue is that it's time for the card to report to the credit bureaus and if it reports with the $123 charge it's going to screw up my utilization ratio. Since they put it in a fraud investigation and told me not to pay it will that balance still report?
Thank you.
Mini update: they told me my VS account isn't closed, they just removed the available balance so no more purchases could be made. Whenever that person made the transaction it triggered a fraud alert. Victoria's Secret said they can't stop the order (made in and sent to Ohio and I am in NC). I don't understand how someone in Ohio was able to make an online purchase with my card. Especially since it asks for things like name on the card and zip code and billing address.

A couple of possibilites:
- Someone was able to guess your online account reset questions
- You have keylogging malware on your PC
