Re: Walmart FICO - April 2014

No matter what - my Fico has stayed the same for like 7 months - this is with CL increases - apps - no apps - paid-off cards ... etc.  I think I should have seen SOME sort of movement.  I do not get it -

It happens sometimes you hit a plateau ....Not the official term but you get the idea

My TU and EX after a spree climbed 4-6 points the next month they sat there for 7 months not one point up or down

No matter what UTL I tried between 1-6% and I tried them all

Finally I stop watching or caring and just let balances report and then PIF

Low and behold this month both scores went up....Go figure

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

I have a sneaky suspicion (no official proof) is when that happens you've maxxed out the scorecard for your individual bucket and it's corresponding range; I was in the same place you were last year and other than maxxing out a card I couldn't do anything to shift my score and I stayed flatlined at a 660 Beacon 5.  Then suddenly my score started moving again., and it was right around my oldest account turned 2 (and I dropped a couple second round inquiries out of scoring range too)  but I'd have to go look up the historical numbers to be certain on the timeline.

Might work in reverse too, shortly after my score started moving again, it barely budged on my Beacon 5 score with a new tax lien added to the report, but I got absolutely hammered on both TU and EX '08.  One would've thought that a major new derogatory on any score would've been a big penalty, but since I already had a tax lien on my report, I was likely already in that sort of bucket anyway, and possibly limited as to how much I could fall without being shifted into a different bucket.

Not worth worrying about honestly, it happens.
