Re: We are unable to verify your identity...

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with these ridiculous problems.  Equifax is the worst with TU a close second.  First, they make it extremely difficult for one to bypass all the ads for buying their silly monitoring services and the links to actually get your report or dispute are so far hidden within the website, it's nearly impossible to find.  Next, having a prior login and password or report number, you're always denied access anyway.  Having to go through 30 minutes worth of multiple logins, denied access, "we don't recognize you", ad nauseum, is ridiculous.  Maybe this is something the CFPB could address at some point to help consumers.  The CRA access problems have been problematic for a long time.

I'm guessing every time you buy your FICO's from myFico, you're term/limit is reset for accessing any reports from the CRA's.  If that's been stated somewhere here, I missed it, but I think it's unfair should someone need to buy a score, that by doing so, you're denied your actual "free" yearly report from the CRA's. It's also unfair in buying FICO's 3-in-1 and not getting the Equifax portions of your report.   I can't remember the last time I was able to gain access/get my annual free report from the CRA''s - maybe I'm doing something wrong or should stop buying my FICO scores?

Re: We are unable to verify your identity...

I don't know, I've never bought my scores anywhere. I rely on the score included in my credit denial letters lol!

TU has been fine for me -- I did have to call them up once and answer some verification questions, but it's been smooth sailing since then. Equifax and Experian however have both been ridiculous beyond words about not giving me the free reports I'm entitled to.

I did notice however that TU is equally stupid when it comes to addresses. On my girlfriend's report the current address was correct, and then when we looked again 3 months later it randomly had "APT R" added to it. The reported since date was still 2006, but it has never said APT R before lol. This isn't even an apartment complex, it's a regular house! They also won't let us dispute the "current" address without mailing in all the verification stuff, which is just stupid since they've had it correct for the last 7 years and just now randomly made it wrong for no reason all on their own.

I think all of the CRAs just do whatever they feel like for no rhyme or reason, and the consumer be damned. They don't care because they're subject to very little actual regulation with few real consequences for their actions.

Goal: 800, Current Scores: EX 735, EQ 746, TU 745

Re: We are unable to verify your identity...

TU hasn't been too awful for me save for the monotonous login problems and redirections to pages other than real access.  I simply stopped trying.

I know about the additions.  Experian keeps adding cell phone numbers to the accounts, despite our explicit requests for removals.  They are generally always removed, but then put back sometime later.  I don't want every tom/dick/harry having access to my cell, it drives me crazy.

Yes, it isn't fair that it is the consumer who must bend over backwards, at their own cost (time, copies, mailings etc) to fix what others seem to enjoy screwing up on whatever whim they choose.
