Web site with list of points per credit card

I could find web sites that can tell you what are points and miles worth in cents, so for example, I see that Chase Ultimate Rewards point is worth 2.08 cents on some web site.

But for the Capital One Venture, it gives 2 miles for every purchase, so even though Capital One Mile is worth 1.73 cents and it's less than 2.08 cents, because it gives me 2 miles for every purchase, it's better to have a Capital One Venture card than a Chase card that gives you only 1 point per purchase.

Is there a web site that list how many cents per point each card gives for every day general purchase (not gas, not restaurant, not travel)? That would make the comparison much easier on knowing which card brings the best value.

Valuation of points/miles will vary person to person but these might be used as a starting guide.

Re: Web site with list of points per credit card

Also keep in mine that some cards while seemingly a good point system have bad transfer partners. Capitol One springs to mind. Then some are unique to that creditor. Delta is heavily in bed with Amex (One of the most successfull partnerships in history. Delta has more people redeming Amex points for tickets by many billions then actually buy tickets directly). I don't believe Amex offers Southwest transfers.

Also the values listed tend to be with 1 specific transfer partner that alot of sites like thepointsguy.com advertises. Take Amex for instance usually its 1:1 transfer ration but on Aeromexico its usually always more so alot of points site might quote that as the value. I don't travel to Mexico (do cruise down there) so that is worthless to me.

All the points site assume you desire to transfer to a Airline usually and base the valuation on the highest one offered. Myself I get bucko points from my job since I travel outside of the USA 100% for it. I fly 4-5 times a year and often business class which boosts my points. I use all my points for gift cards on food, Apple stuff when they run a promo.

Other rule of thumb don't infinitely await to use points. 100% they will at some point devalue them. They all do this to great frustration. My rule of thumb is I try to expend my points every two years. United for instance just had a grand devaluation.

I never saw Southwest as a transfer partner, which card allows that?

Re: Web site with list of points per credit card

Chase and BILT allow it. I often use Chase points actually (I fogot about that in above post) for Southwest to Vegas since its a direct flight from my location. That was actually the reason I got a Chase Sapphire I transferred all the sign up bonus points to Southwest.

Get a BILT card if your paying rent or a mortage. You get the points for rent and they cover the transaction charge. Easy way to get some free points.

Re: Web site with list of points per credit card

I have the Chase Southwest Premier card. Do you think that a non branded Chase card give more Southwest points than a Southwest card?

Re: Web site with list of points per credit card

I believe that my Chase Sapphire Preferred gives 2x points for non Chase booked travel and your Chase Southwest gives you 3x on Southwest ticket purchases. Also depending on when you got your Chase determines if you get a bonus for another Chase. I believe its two years for some cards 4 years for a Sapphire line. Amex I belive now has once a lifetime bonus sign up as well so choose wisely.

Best bet for Southwest is just to focus alot of spending pay off spend rinse and repeat. Alot of Southwest frill with Chase card and probably changing as well as they are radically transforming to be like a traditional airline.
