What a let down :(

So i have been soooooo motivated by all of you to improve my score and not just settle for good credit, so last month i decided to improve my utilization.  I have been misguided and preferred to let my money sit in Money market instead of paying off my credt cards.  So last month I paid  down a 85% utilization to a mere 10% .   and waited....

My score was 675 so I thought 700 club here I come ???

knowing that equifax would update soon i waited and waited and waited.  finally  the balances seemed corret.  so logged into myfico to purchase my score.  ah ah  mere 20 point increase .  710 on EX

why so low i was perplexed and  sadden.   so i decided to try the simulation to see how i could improve and THERE IT WAS EQUIFAX CHEATED  for the first time my car loan which i have had for 6 months now was listed as  AUTO  and  LINE OF CREDIT.

WHAT?????

so here I am wasting my time doing corrections.   time i should be spending  GW and removing negatives ( two)

so I have contacted the bank correction in progress,  correted letter faxed to my office and disputed equifax online  ummm still mad.

will have to wait another 30 days.  probably should have kept the 20G in the bank

lesson learned when you scoree expectations are not met  or your number fall ever so slightly (outside of the rebucketing phenomenon) check carefully each open TL  there really might be a subtle change.

Re: What a let down :(

Wow. Sorry that happened. I'd be upset too. I don't recall ever seeing a post where a bank or lender changed the TL classification from installment to LOC. At least you caught the change. Keep us informed on this change to EQ.

Re: What a let down :(

So i contacted the credit union they did some investigation and admitted to the error.  CR says it may take 30 days to correct so she could also send me a letter which I promptly had faxed.

"This letter is to verify the the above referenced lain with the credit union is an installment loasn used to finance a vehicle"I

Just fix it darn it... will keep you posted.

Re: What a let down :(

Problem solved.

the credit Union corrected the problem on their part almost immediatley  (maybe because they are CU and not commercial bank).  I could not rescore  yesterday because  i could only get 1 report per day.   so today I AM OFFICIALLY IN THE 700 CLUB .  this is a long time coming.

I appreciate the concerns of  all thouse who read this and related to my let down that was no fault of mine.  thanks  to all.

My Amex shoud reage from 2009  to 1997  next week  ( they are 1 month behind and ny balance shoud be $117  down fron 1800)  so i anticipate another little bump in my score.

end.

Re: What a let down :(

I use creditsecure   ( I know FAKO scores)   from American Express this gives me the ability to pull my credit reports (all three daily if I wish).  I do not place emphasis on th score much but i get organized detailed reports from all CRA.  it cost me $111/yr   you can pay monthly for 11.99/mo i think.  This service is powered by experian. The content of the reports outweights the score accuracy so it is beneficial to me.

The daily pull is important to me because I am rebulding my credit and checking on my GW sucess is important since some creditor will fix the probem and not  notify you at all.  also bad things simply fall off without any alert.

If I notice positive changes on creditsecure then I purchase my real score from FICO to see the  effect on my FICO score. 9 i do not wate money on the negatives.  Also  I use a coupon to buy the FIco score so they are 12+ each.

I also had for many years score watch  via equifax not via FICO and this allows me to get a new equifax only score dily if a choose.  I pay per year I also get 2 score per year and 1 three 3 report per  year.  at the end of ths year i wil drop equifax and use  creditsecure  only and purchase my score as needed.
