In Nov 06 I got an Auto Loan with a rather high interest rate but I'm 7 mths from payoff (did 24 mths) I've paid extra on it, then in August 07 I went to my CU and did a secured loan against my savings for 18 mths, I'm 2 mths ahead of payoff date. My CU gave me my 1st CC ($500.00). At the time I did my Auto Loan my TU score was high 400's for some reason twice the lender has pulled my TU report without my permission ,I've complained but they say they have the right, they call and let me know my score in Sept 07 it was 566, Dec. it was 551 (WTH, 15 pt drop).Creditors have PP to pull your report. How are they coding it though? Hard pull or soft pull? Soft shouldn't hurt your score. On October 29, 07 Kroll Factual Data pulled my credit for a Mortgage loan - they pulled a Empirica TU Score of 591, EQ and EX had no score for me at all, seems all my loans and CC only report to TU. I do have 4 unpaid medical bills on my CR and an acct for a cell phone (cell phone is NOT mine, disputed but TU will no remove) medical bills are about 4 years old. I understand my Credit Score might have went down because I did CU Loan and CC within 3 mths of each other but I was denyed CC at time I did secured loan (CU offered secured loan when I was denyed CC so I took it to start somewhere) I always pay Auto and CU loan 2 weeks early, never carry a balance on CC (pay it off within 3 days of using it) I pay all my everyday bills on time.Should I try to get a CC that reports to all 3 CRA or just let it go ? please I need help so I will qualify for a home loan.Inquiries will cause score to go down for a bit too. New credit does as well. And your actual FICO score may not have changed that much.Ask your creditors about reporting to the other CRA. Some will do it if you ask. Sometimes CRA will let you add accounts for a fee from what I've read.
