What information to ask OC for?

I have an OLD account with Chase that I settled 2 years ago. I sent them a GW letter, asking to have the account deleted. The response I recieved was less than I had hoped for. They sent me 28 pages of billing statements, and a cover letter stating they don't delete acurate info.

The earliest statement they sent was for 7/2003 8 years after I opened the account, and it was showing a balance of $5000. Since the account only had a $500 CL I believe the DOFD is WAY before this date (7/2003 is also listed as DOFD on my CR's).

My question is what information should I ask for Chase to provide me?

this is what I was going to ask for:

A contract showing the date I opened the account.

A purchase history.

Documentation prior to 7/28/2003 showing how the account grew to $5000

A document showing the date of first delinquency.

A document showing when the account was closed, and by whom.

A document showing when credit was no longer available for me to use

I am new to all of this, so if I am wrong, please tell me I am wrong.

Any advice would be greatly apriciated.

Re: Acct #xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

To Whom It May Concern:

I recently pulled my credit report from Experian, Equifax and TransUnion and noticed this account was listed on each of my reports as a collection I immediately disputed this information with Experian, Equifax and TransUnion and the results of the investigation came back as "verified".

Since I have disputed the account with the credit bureaus, and you have verified them, I would like to see what sort of records you have for this alleged account. Under the new FACTA laws, you are required to conduct an investigation on this account, and I am now requesting it.

In order to clear up this matter, I would like to see:

Complete account history, including, all statements, records of all activity, payments, collection attempts, and any charges added for collection activity; In short, any and all documentation pertaining to this account

If you don't respond with the results of the investigation (as is required per the FCRA), I will assume you have no documentation and therefore you were negligent in providing the credit bureaus with accurate information. At this point, you would also be in violation of the FCRA merely for not responding within the 30-day period.

Re: What information to ask OC for?

Thanks HappyDays,
I have disputed them with 1 CRA (just testing the waters), and while waiting for the results I GW'ed them (Chase Bank). The obviously treated my GW letter as an investigation request, telling me they wouldn't delete, and sent me 28 pages of billing statements.

if they do verify, I will dispute.

I believe the account was over the limit and late since 1995.

Thanks again for your help, and happy Easter.
