I did not spend enough time to even try and formulate an opinion about the quality of info at that site. I will say, some of the posts were very unfriendly and was wondering if that is the norm there.

In direct response to your question, no, I don't see that as the norm. In fact, I see numerous examples of posters going outta their way to post useful info while attempting to dissuade folks of some asinine pre-conceived notion they will not abandon.
