What is going on with my Credit Karma account?

Hello,

So I have a question about Credit Karma that hopefully someone could help me with. I have read lots of stuff that Credit Karma isn't very accurate and that's fine. But something I saw on my account today makes no sense and I don't know what to do or should do.

It stated that my 3 credit card accounts they had for me according to Transunion(I guess that's the credit bureau they use)were closed.

This is what it has on my Credit Karma account about Cap1:

CAPITAL ONE account removed from your file
Between Oct 29, 2023 and Nov 6, 2023, your credit card account with CAPITAL ONE was removed from your credit report.

Since this account is no longer on your credit report, its details won't be factored into your credit score. Accounts can sometimes be removed due to things like disputes and reporting errors.

It also had the same thing for my Discover and Synchrony Bank/Amazon Secured Card too.  I DIDN'T CLOSE MY ACCOUNTS SO WHY THE HECK IS THIS HAPPENING?

I called Transunion and the guy told me they are all showing active and not removed on their end. I also looked at my Equifax report online for Monday Nov 6th and they are also still listed with this bureau too.

So should I be concerned what it shows on Credit Karma? I tried to see if I could call them and they ridiculously don't have a phone number to call for customer service. I don't know what to do. It's so bizarre and honestly I feel like every week it's something else going wrong or frustrating me.

Please help anyone. Has this happened to anybody else and/or should I be concerned?
Thanks

Go to annualcreditreport.com and pull your TU report and go over it with a fine tooth comb. CK has hiccups all the time. Then you'll know.

I tried but it wasn't letting me see it online, some technical issue. Regardless I called TransUnion and spoke to somebody who told me that all of my accounts are still active and showing. Isn't that enough?

My question is how to get credit karma to fix this. And why it is showing that 3 accounts are closed. And do I really need to even use credit karma at all anyways? What are they good for?

No you don't really need to use it. Generally Ck is good for seeing faster updates to things happening on your EQ and TU credit reports, inquires, reporting etc... but this thread seems to be throwing that idea out the window... Perhaps just a glitch with CK and it will get straightened out in the coming weeks as your accounts report to the CRAs.

Has to be a glitch right? I signed up for Nerdwallet to see their credit report they have from me and it shows 3 revolving accounts active. Chase hasn't updated at all yet. But credit karma showing that all my accounts are closed with the exception of my rent reporting is weird and bizarre.

If the rep from TransUnion told me my accounts are active + on Creditwise it pulls TransUnion and showed me the accounts are active - there is no way Credit Karma is accurate right?

Honestly, I don't find CK all that fast when it comes to updates; case in point, I occasionally brows both WalletHub and CK and noticed sometime last week, or possibly the week before, my TU Vantage score bumped up by about 10 points.  Funny thing though, since both WalletHub and CK use TU, I can still see my old score on CK.  This isn't the first time I've noticed CK being late in reporting, but given I don' pay any attention to the Vantage scores, I honestly could care less.

@MikeyMagic, given CK has the ability to show both TU and EQ, does the EQ page on the CK site also show your cards as having gone missing?

No I checked my up to date credit report on Equifax late last night and it has my rent reporting AND my 3 credit card accounts.

That's why I am so bent out of shape. I hope it is a glitch of course but why would Credit Karma show this? It worries me even though I called TransUnion and they told me my accounts are active. I called them yesterday.

Should I be concerned?

What I was asking about was the CK version of EQ, not looking directly at the EQ site.

As for being concerned, no, I would put virtualy zero weight behind anything CK tells you.

Re: What is going on with my Credit Karma account?

Bottom line is I wouldn't be concerned with what is, or isn't on CK... in the grand scheme of things they mean absolutely nothing to your credit.... As long as your actual reports are correct, that's all that matters.
