On 11-26-12 and 12-10-12 I obtained my EQ credit reports and scores from myFico. The reports were almost identical, which I expected and which came as no surprise.
However, today 12-17-12 I requested a copy of my EQ free credit report and this report has different information than the EQ reports obtained from myFico.
(Just as an fyi... I was obtaining the free report as I am trying to get a phone number to call EQ. I tried disputing information online but I keep on losing my session and the page resetting before I can dispute all the information that needs disputing, so I figured it might be easier to call and dispute information....)
Does anyone know why my EQ reports are showing different accounts when they were obtained so close together? It just doesn't make sense to me.
Split file? That's what it sounds like to me.
Can you give a little more detail on what is different?
There were some account listings that were on one report and not the other. The most significant being that the myFICO report shows no collections but the EQ free credit report shows a collections account. Which to me is a pretty big difference. I have spoken to myFICO on the phone about this but they were of no help and could not give me any answers except to say that they reports should be the same.
Were both credit reports pulled using the same name, address and SSN? I preusme the answer is yes. Your correct that is a big difference.
Yes, they were.
Strange; it's *possible* that in trying to dispute something on your account something got munged, or it's possible that was just added?
I know both are pretty unlikely occurrences; is it a legit collection? Unfortunately there's no third-party you can check in this case unlike either EX or TU to my knowledge, but the myFICO reps are correct in stating it should be the same. Theoretically could be a bug in the myFICO report generation side too, it's just hard to tell honestly but if the CRA has the collection, it probably exists in their dataset, and that's worth looking into regardless.
I now this thread is rather old but I'm having the same problems.
For a year or more I would dispute 7 old addresses and a name variation and the dispute would come back that the addresses and the name were either deleted or not displaying. I would pull another report and they were all still there.
Recently I pulled a report and the name variation, addresses, and 7 negative accounts were gone. I went in the back door as you would to do an on line dispute and all the address, the name, and the 7 negative tradelines were there. It was then I figured out I must have a split file. You would think EQ would have figured it out .
I sent EQ a CM letter asking them to fix it. I'll see what happens and post.
I am also having a simillar issue. I have a new account that is showing on my MyFico EQ as authorized user but when I pull my EQ report from the Equifax.com site, the TL is not there
