What is the deal with Authorized User accounts with Baddies?

Apparently, my DH had me as an authorized user on a card that he closed and settled for less than full payment.  I never had the card and it is only showing on one report (TU).  It has been closed since 2009.  I thought A.U. was gone and they were to be taken off your credit - good and bad.  Am I wrong?  Any suggestions on getting this removed?

Hello There, I was in the same situation where there was a card wtih $1000 and I was AU. The other person had the balnce up to $900 and then stopeed paying. I didn't know that this was going on until it started to hit my credit. I immediately call the CB's . For some reasons , transunion removed it but it still shows on Experian. I probably should remind them.

I suggest you call the CB's and/or dispute online and say that account wasnt yours which is true.

You don't even need to file the dispute online. Call the bureaus directly, tell them you are reported as an AU on an account that is not yours, they will remove instantly and its done. There is no verification that needs to be performed.
