What is the fastest way to get the creditors to update CC balances with the CB?

I am paying off my cards and I am very impatient.   So of course I want to see the results ASAP.   I just paid off two cards but the creditors won't send in a balance update on a whim - I must wait for their monthly updates.   Am I better off disputing with the CBs?

Hi TIM2,

Try to be patient, and save some time and paper. Most CC companies report monthly, however if you have a current CR in hand, you can just call-in to CRA's and dispute balances, and they will usually verify this INFO within 1-2 weeks.  If you file written disputes they will probably update before you receive dispute results anyway.

My advice is to wait- unless you are in the middle of a mortgage and need the score boost-

Disputing positive accounts can do 2 things-

-Account may get deleted

-Can not dispute again

I am actually trying to purchase a car and I know that once these new balances report I will see a substantial jump in my scores.
