What is with EQ and their monitoring services so aggrivating

Good Evening Forum Members

I called EQ today to cancel my monthly monitoring service with them because I am hopefully going to get myFico back after several problems with enrollment issues.  Anyway this guy just goes on the normal garble about why am i stopping and what they offer and suddenly I get a discount for staying well if i am eligible for 50% off why wouldnt you just charge that in the first place? Ridiculous.  Anyway then he goes on to say sites like myFico are 3rd party inaccurate scores and very misleading and all that i put it simply i am a forum member and I just wish to have all my credit services in one place is that a big deal?  It is to them.  I hate being abrupt and rude to people doing their job but come on just respect my wishes and cancel my order.

Hopefully I can work out issues with myFico this time.  Wish me Luck

Thanks for reading my post as always comments and advice are welcome.  Have a Blessed Day

It's called retentions.  No company provides such offers to everyone.  This is not unique to EQ.

CSR's with any company can be misinformed.

Also, keep in mind that EQ and myFICO are not the only monitoring options.

Yes I do understand that EX and TU both offer the same such services, however only update their score monthly if i want all 3 CRA's updated I have to keep paying.  And as far as different models being used If i am not mistaken myFico offers all models when you order the 3B report.  I just dont enjoy pushy sales reps who want to push product down your throat.  I was polite the whole conversation until the rep kept insisting on telling me how unreliable third party sites are and how great their service is and on and on.  I had my mind made up and all I wanted was their respecting my wishes plain and simple

^^^^^ TIMES INFINITY!!!

I had the exact same experience last week.  I had to endure the Spanish Inquisition and then the resulting hostility and rudeness when I wouldn't give him the information he wanted.  Very thick accent -- hard to understand.  Wanted to update all my personal information (phone numbers, addresses etc).  I said I was canceling and he didn't need any of that.  And he said in a very argumentatitive tone "We have to follow a process".  I said there was nothing to follow... just cancel the fricking credit monitoring!  10 minutes of my life I will never get back...

and yes -- the offer to keep me for 50 percent of what they were charging was insulting.  Why not just come out and say "ya' know... we've been ripping you off for the last 10 months but now that you are leaving, we'll give you a better deal!"

By contrast -- signed up for a 7-day trial on Experian and forgot to cancel so was billed for 1 month.  Called to cancel and I was able to do it without having to speak to a live human... less than 60 seconds and I was done.

Yet another reason to hate EQ and prefer EX...
