What makes a 30 day late?

I admit I feel dumb asking this... (but I will ask it without shame anyway, I've never been late at all) what exactly makes a 30 day late? Do you actually have to be over 30 days late, or is being even 1 day late count as a 30 day?

Each company interprets it differently. IMO, it should be if you haven't made a minimum payment by the following due date, but CCC's are rarely this generous.

Dig through your terms and conditions statement with the eensie print that they mailed you (of course you saved it! we all do!) or try to access it online. A past online statement often has lots of fine print goodies. It might be on the second (or third) page of the PDF version that you can pull up on the computer.

Re: What makes a 30 day late?

Wells Fargo and Best Buy (HSBC) account is 30 days late if not paid by the next statment date which could be 2 days aftr the due date (Wells Fargo).

Also keep in mind if you pay in person or over the phone, they may want the payment by a certian time on the due date.

Some companies may not report you late to the CRAs until you are 60 days late but most will rate jack you if you are one day late.

For best results, I would make the payment no later then 48 hours before it is due and always you on-line bill pay.

You dont want to test a CCC about their policy nor would I ask them.  Unless you do it from a phone that cannot be traced back to you or from a phone of someone you dont like at work.  Think caller-id.
