What's next... I think Equifax is going to be an issue!!!!!

I've found this forum to be very helpful through my journey of repairing my credit. I'm happy to say that my Transunion score has been raised 70 points and in the low 700, but my Equifax score still suffers from some bad information. Is there anyway to get the good information being reported on Transunion to carry over to Equifax. I had a collection deleted from my Transunion that is currently still being reflected on my Equifax along with some other items. What are the steps I can take? If I've missed something in the forum already posted I apologize... Like I stated I've used this forum for the majority of my corrections and getting a little anxious to having good credit again. While I was in the military I never took the time to look at my credit report.

----UPDATE----

I was just notified that my dispute came back from Equifax as a Charge-OFF and another account let late payments remain. Both of these were fixed on the other CRA. It's not too serious because the information should be coming off in July of this year and the late payments in September of this year. If I redispute should I send the EQ a letter by certified mail or should I request the validation information from Equifax and the creditor. What's my options?

Re: Transunion is 72 points above Equifax

To fix your baddies on Equifax, it may help to read through the "first steps" information which you can find by clicking here

WHY was it deleted from TU?

Deletion alone with one CRA does not compel deletion with others.  However, if the reason for deletion with one CRA was due to the outcome of a dispute finding it to be inaccurate or unverifiable, the debt collector should have reported the outcome of the dispute to all CRAs to which they had reported the information.

Re: What's next... I think Equifax is going to be an issue!!!!!

It didn't say exactly why it was deleted from TU after the investigation.  I have received my letter from Equifax stating that it wasn't deleted and that I could request the investigation information from the creditor and then send that to them. I'm kind of confused because I would think that Equifax would already have the validation of the debt from the creditor and wouldn't need the information that I'm requesting. Is there something else that can be done at this point?

Re: What's next... I think Equifax is going to be an issue!!!!!

The CRAs dont share the results of their investigations with each other.

The FCRA puts the burden on the furnisher of the disputed information, when a dispute is filed through one CRA, to correct or delete the disputed information with all other CRAs consistent with their reporting back to the CRA handling the dispute.  FCRA 623(b)(1)(D).

Contact the creditor/debt collector, and have them report any corrections/deletions to all other CRAs to which they had previously reported the disputed information.

Re: What's next... I think Equifax is going to be an issue!!!!!

I don't think I understand. According to Equifax they investigated the debt with the creditor (Firestone) and found that it was validated. I recently received a letter from Equifax stating what items were moved and which ones remained (Firestone). I was informed by the letter to request the information used to validated the debt from the crecitor (Firestone) and send that information to Equifax. From what I've gathered on the internet you can't due a DV with a Original Creditor. I've also heard that Equifax doesn't bother really investigating debts and a simple phone call with the creditor (Firestone) stating that I have a debt with them is sometimes suffice. I know there has to be a way to force the Original Creditor to prove I have a debt and to the best of my knowledge Firestone never sent the debt to collection. I can't understand why I have a chargeoff with 0 balance and nothing in collections.

You do have a way to compel disclosure of the facts.

That's the purpose and authority of the courts.
