As im addicted to checking my score , I sit here at 1:30 am and wonder what time Credit Karma and Credit Check Total update. Due for my new scores on CK today. Is it 2,3,4am?? eastern standard time, Central time? Does anyone know if there is a set time you can count on? Thanks
mine's saturdays and....it just updated.
LIES. It didn't. It updated...but not THE update. Got till AM. It's normally refreshed by 9am EST.
It updates 12 AM PST.
CK does not update user's credit report data without a specific user initiating the request. I have explained how the request is evaluated and initiated above.

It really varies... At the very minimum (maximum?) you have to wait a total of 7-days before it will allow you to get an updated score. So if the last time it was updated was Saturday at 10pm, you'll have to wait until the next Saturday at 10:01pm. However, the system does appear to update more often sometimes for some reason. I haven't exactly figured it out yet (I think its a glitch) but sometimes it'll update each time I log into the system if its different from the last time I log in (such as through the smart phone app vs my computer). For example, I have reports for Dec 6, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 28, Jan 4, 11, 13, 14.
Edit: Credit Karma should also say on the dashboard when it will be updating next... It should say "Next Update In X Days"

When you login at CK, it checks if you are eligible to get an update, based on the time of YOUR last update at CK. If you are, CK will contact TU and EQ to obtain reports and update your account at CK. Sometimes, TU and/or EQ are doing system maintenance, and certain services are not available, such as the one CK uses to get current reports. In that case, CK will tel you to try again latter.CK does not update user's credit report data without a specific user initiating the request. @I know, but if you pull it weekly on a specific day then it updates @ 12 AM PST.

+1 This has been my experience as well.
Before 12 AM PST it continues to show the old data; after that time it will attempt to update. Sometimes I get the 'maintenance' message; I just check back in an hour or so and the reports are usually able to update.
Occasionally it will update one credit bureau but not the other... when that happens, the very next time I log in the 'missing' report is usually updated at that time. They definitely operate on Pacific time, though, which make sense being that they are headquarted in San Francisco. ![]()
CK uses Pacific Time to determine 1 week eligibility. At 12AM, in any given time zone, the date changes. If a user's last update was 6 days ago at 11:59P pacific time, at 12:00A, same user will become eligible for an update, since the date just changed in PT. The "update" is only initiated by the user. CK does not get updated information unless a user initiates the update. Think about this and you will realize that CK avoids paying TU and EQ unless am eligible user initiates the update.I know, but if you pull it weekly on a specific day then it updates @ 12 AM PST.

Fortunately, the part in red above is not accurate. If it were, we'd not only have to be crazy clock watchers, but eventually, we'd be pushed ridiculously later and later in the day for our updates. CK allows updates every seven days, but it's the day that counts, not the exact hours and minutes from the previous update.
