Hi everybody,
I have 2 choices, pay off 2 credit cards or pay off 2 collection accts and I'm wondering which to do first?
The 2 credit cards are;
card A- 400$ credit limit current balance $527
card B- 150$ credit limit current balance $287
**both overlimit but making current payments
The 2 collection accounts are:
acct A- $219 balance
acct B- $634 balance
Just wondering what the experts would recommend I do first and why.
Thanks!
Christine
Paying off your CCs will result in at least 50-70 pts, if you have no other CCs or other CCs w/ a balance showing. Being over the limit results in a large ding and any CC reporting above 9% results in a point loss. Pay one to $0 and the other to under 9%.
Paying off your CAs will result in 0 points, unless they accept a PFD first. Whether you owe $0 or $10,000, the damage to your score is the same.
