What would happen to scores if you dispute?

Ok, My brother has 3 positve tradlines w/ no lates or overlimits.
He also has 6 chargeoffs.

He wants to buy a car within a couple weeks. His Fico scores are 630 636 652.

All 6 negatives are from Collection Agencies, nothing from the OC are on his reports. He disputed all the OC negatives and they all came off.

If he disputes the negatives a couple days before he goes into the dealership would his scores raise because they are in dispute? I thought I had read that somewhere on this site but I cant find it.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Im sure he will get approved with his scores, He's just trying to get a better intrest rate.

Some experiences small increases, some small increases, some nothing at all.

I think it depends on the reason for the dispute as to whether the TL is included in the scoring or not.

I dont disputing causes a drastic change. But, I don't know for 100%.

I wonder if disputing CA's vs OC's makes a difference in scoring?

Do CA's count for length of credit history?

Re: What would happen to scores if you dispute?

Send DV letters to the CA's at the same time that you dispute with the CRA's. If the CA's do not verify than the cra's will delte. If the ca's do not satisfactorily answer your dv's than they must delete.

Either way check rpts before applying for the auto loan.

My EQ rose 26 points during a dispute, but the items are on there and marked as disputed. While the actual score might get better many people on here have said that the underwriters dont like things being in dispute when giving out a loan. Might not be a good idea.

Yes

No, CAs and PRs do not count for length of credit history.

Collections and public records do not factor in credit history length while a derogatory trade line such as a charge-off reporting by the OC does.
