Re: What would happen to scores if you dispute?

So do you guys think that disputing the negative CA tradelines would affect the scores in a positive way since they wouldnt be considered in the scoring.

Once the disputes reported, Wouldnt it be like just having the 3 positive accounts?

I wonder if disputing CA's vs OC's makes a difference in scoring?

Do CA's count for length of credit history?

Collections and public records do not factor in credit history length while a derogatory trade line such as a charge-off reporting by the OC does.

Then why would my spouse's score drop when the oldest account fell off this month, a CA(Riddle and Associates) when nothing else changed?

If it was her only CA, she may have been rebucketed.

It's actually fairly common when losing one's only CA, but it has nothing to do with the age of the CA account.

Ok, sorry, my bad..........does anyone know the bucket ranges?  Possible that happened.......wasn't only CA....but may have made a score difference of enough to put into a new bucket.

It depends. Are you asking about a negative tradeline (charge-off) and not a collection account being reporting by a CA? If it's a neagtive TL, then maybe yes, your scores might improve.

Re: What would happen to scores if you dispute?

All 6 are from Collection Agencies. He use to have 12 negatives (6 from the OC and the 6 from CA)

He disputed the 6 OC's and they all got removed so now all he has is the 6 CA's reporting, plus the 3 positive TL's.

Re: What would happen to scores if you dispute?

I have one CA in dispute right now with EQ and my score dropped 5 points. The CRA is reporting it as "120+ days late" which is bad. It's closed and has been closed since last year.

I don't mean to feed your need (we all get antsy when we want to see results NOW), Smiley Happy but I hope this helps.

Re: What would happen to scores if you dispute?

Anyone else have any experience with this?

I'm trying to figure out how taking away the disputed items from scoring would negatively impact your score. Aren't the negative CA's what hurts your score?
