Whats the best way to try to have PIF collections acct deleted from CR's?

Should I write a $25.00 settlement for a deletion of it? I already PIF'ed it and I figure $ will motivate them. I also tried disputing it, but that didnt work.

I personally wouldn't offer money.

I would send GW letter. Is it CA or OC reporting?

It says MCYDSNB

I PIF'd it in 2006 I believe and they said they were a collection agency, but I dont know if it's Macy's, Macy's own CA, or a separate CA altogether.

I guess a GW letter would be my best bet, I will write one up today, and send it out Monday first thing. I will tailor a general GW letter and explain why I had the problems I did. I  hope they work with me.

It's Macys. They probably hired a CA at one point but it is Macys for sure. Like mentioned, send a GW.

If it were me, I'd call the lender's Debt Recovery Department, and visit with those folks. If the OC still owns the account.

Ok, cool. I called the macy's number this morning and was transferred to 1-800-543-9617. They wont be there until Monday so I will find out the scoop.

In a dream world, they'd open my account back up, and let me keep my open date of 2003, and erase my history Smiley Wink

Ahh but it's nice to dream, isnt it?
