Should I send a DV letter before or after I send a PFD letter?

Re: When DV?

I think you only send a pfd before sol so you only need to dv now.

Re: When DV?

Can I not ask for a PFD if the account is still showing on my credit report, but after the SOL has expired?

Re: When DV?

you can PFD at any time.....by sending a DV  the CA must prove that it is your debt and that they are authorized to receive payment.

Re: When DV?

Happy Days, can I send a DV letter even though in my limited knowledge of this community at the time, I sent a PFD letter and received an unfavorable reply from the CA?

Should I just send another PFD letter?

I would like to say that you guys are awesome and awe inspiring with your knowledge of how this credit thing works. Thanks to you guys I am on my way to recovery.

Hi DotsSon and welcome to the forums.

This thread is over 4 years old so you might not get an answer from HappyDays any time soon. I wil tell you that yes you can go ahead and send a DV even if it's past the usual 30 day time limit to respond to a dunning letter. I have read several posts where a DV was still successful even after being sent late. It can't hurt. All the CA can do is ignore it.

Now if you happen to live in Texas there is no 30 day limit on sending a DV letter and the CA must answer that DV within 30 days.
