When did EQ start deleting accounts rather then disputing? Anyone else?

I disputed an account that should be closed. Account was deleted 2 days later. Not just that one. I have other stuff missing too. I asked EQ if I had a split file they said no. I even wrote on the fax DO NOT DELETE, Please make corrections.

Same thing happened to me.  I did mine on line and got the confirmation number.  When I updated my CR a few days later, the account was gone.

When I tried to check the investigation status, they had deleted that also.  It is as if it was never put on my CR in the first place.

Why??? You want it to say "Open" even if it is closed!

I have a Zales acct that was CO'd about 12+ yrs ago and PIF, but it is still reporting. How? There are no baddies, it says "paid as agreed" and it is still listed as "open". I even called Zales about 7 yrs ago and they said it was closed. I'm not gonna rock the boat. I'll let it report as "open" for as long as it wants to and once it goes to "closed", then the 10 yrs clock starts ticking. This account is a great history anchor.

This gets interesting. The dispute was on EQ but not EQ and EX are both deleted. Eeks! The lender must have sent in a delete request on this account? Contacting the lender now...

Bank didn't have the account of file anymore because it was so old, so they sent in delete requests to all 3 CRAs. Smiley Sad I lost a very old account and all it's history. It was set to fall off my CR next year anyway, little damage done. Average age is now set back 6 months. Smiley Sad

Interesting.  My BofA account should have been been closed during DMP but it wasnt.  I dont need the age and the major derog.  Tempting.

Re: When did EQ start deleting accounts rather then disputing? Anyone else?

I faxed another dispute to Eq. The Eq CSR reading the fax processed it as disputing NOT MINE/delete... This item is still on my CR thankfully as the bank verified it. Today I called Eq and asked them to read my fax to me. The CSR said you disputed NOT MINE. I asked again, please read my fax to me. The CSR said oh I see, you did not dispute that. The dispute faxed was a letter from my bank to update my account with new info. I guess it was easier to submit a delete request than to read my fax.

I don't remember it being this hard to make corrections 1-1/2 years ago on Eq? The past year has been mistake after mistake with Eq for me personally. Before that they were doing ok with me.
