When is account not new?

Ok so i applied for a new credit card yesterday and they said i have to many new accounts, So when is a account not considered new anymore? 6 months? 9 months? 12 months? 24 months?

I would say at 6 months however some CCC might want to see a year.

Barclays said my Discover card is new and I had that for 14 months almost

Really i have a Barclays and i only had 1 account for 1 year and they Approved me for a account with a 10k limit. What card did you apply for?

I've heard two years for FICO to no longer consider it "new," but I would say one year for many other internal scores.
