When to Due Date?

Re: When to Due Date?

I have my Synchrony accounts due on the 7th and 8th, DCU on the 10th, NFCU Plat on the 14th, then the rest of them are between the 21st-23rd so I just pay those on the 21st.

I specifically asked for the credit cards to all have that same due date but I didn’t bother changing it with Synchrony yet.

It does make it easier knowing that the cards I use the most all have the same due date. Since I don’t use the Platinum card from DCU or NFCU often I won’t change those but I would like to change the Synch cards to the 14th - I just don’t like having cards due so close to when I get paid on the 3rd, especially since I always push payments for those.

Re: When to Due Date?

I just went with what due dates I was given. I honestly don't have the time, energy or patience to worry about AZEO.

Re: When to Due Date?

I used to go with the default due date with occasional changing to spread out payments throughout the month.

But recently it occurred to me that that strategy made no sense for me.  I have two large receipts (which will normally cover my monthly spend) near the end of the month and sporadic income throughout the rest of the month.

So I tried to make all my credit cards due on the 28th.  A few companies wouldn't do that, so they are on the 25th.  Except for a couple of others that wouldn't do either of those, so they are on the 1st.

Everything set up to pay the statement balance on the due date.  I'm paying out of savings accounts so I draw maximum interest until the last moment.  It would be a little simpler having everything coming out a checking account, but I enjoy pushing money around to maximize interest income.

Re: When to Due Date?

I don't specifically practice AZEO. But, I do attempt to PIF across the board. Typically after paying everything down, I will be using my daily slider, which means I tend to catch a few small charges there while everything else reports Zero.

So, I guess it's sort of AZEO by osmosis. I keep all but one due on the 4th, the other offset on the 20th.

Re: When to Due Date?

I have all my originally assigned due dates and they’re all different. They essentially fall at the beginning, middle, and end of the month which I like because then my scores update three times a month (when they report). Ideally, I’d like to spread them out a little bit because there’s a bigger gap between the middle and last date, but it works. I plan to eventually add another card or two, so I’ll likely try to get them to overlap with other due dates to keep them spread out but not all over the place. Unfortunately, because of my lower limits, I’m forced to micromanage and pay multiple times, but my goal is to eventually not have to do that!

Re: When to Due Date?

I haven't changed any of mine either, most all are due beginning to almost end of the month. Which has been working out as I get paid twice monthly. I just try to makes sure that I have a budget in place so that I can pay them when the time comes without having to borrow from another account in between, but I usually have a cushion to prevent that as well.

I've thought about changing a few of the outliers to mkae it simpler and easier, but it hasn't been an issue yet.
