Asking this for a friend(and yes, she plans on joining us over here at some point.)
She banks with NavyFed and has one card with them from 2018. Only one card in general, and is trying to build her portfolio. One late in 2019. No other baddies. PIF as of today. Score in the mid 600s. Income 40k.
She was recently in a car accident and was in the process of getting another vehicle when the dealership had multiple HPs trying to secure financing. She didn't go the preapproval route obviously, but plans to refi with NavyFed.
She has 4 HPs on Transunion, all in March, because of the vehicle.
She wanted to know should she refi first and then apply for a CC(do they use the same pull?), or refi and wait since she has so many pulls in a short period?
Thanks in advance!
Generally, when applying for large loans or mortgages in the near future, one should avoid any unnecessary HPs. So I think she should definitely wait until AFTER refinancing to apply for any cards. The cards are secondary in importance.
Good luck to her!

Your question is whether she should apply for a credit card soon after the refi, or wait for a while after the refi?
It depends on what her scores look like after the refi has hit her reports.
Thanks for the responses. I kind of figured she should wait, but I don't drive/have a car, so I couldn't really give her any advice regarding her car loan/refi.
