I'm trying to clean up my credit report but I have soo many Baddies i've racked up over the past three years I don't know where to start and I'm hoping to get some direction from others on this forum.
My goal is to purchase a house by the fall of next year (09), but I will never be able to with the current scores I have. After reading all the success stories on this forum, I'm determined to raise my score and buy a house. So any and all help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Here is a breakdown of the Baddies on my report.
1. On 8/05 I voluntary repo'ed my Nissan Murano. I got a job overseas and it was a lease so I was forced to turn it in. The balance is $4,141 owed to Nissan-Infinity Lt.
Should I pfd this account? How much should I offer? Should i do it in writing or over the phone?
Should I work on this account first since it is the one with the largest balance or start with the most recent ones (see the rest of my list below)
2. on 6/05 my Bank of America CC charged off my $1,816 balance and sold this debt to a CA. Over the past 2+ years and because of interest this debt has grown to $3,295!! Both the CA and the OC are reporting this on my CR. They are even reporting it on my wifes CR and she was only an authorized user not a person responsible for the account.
Who should I PFD? BofA or the CA? How much should I offer to settle this account? Should I be able to get this removed from my wifes CR?
3. I had a power bill (Dominion Virginia Power) from early 05 that was assigned to a CA with a weird name "Nco Fin/99" for the amount of $335. There is no contact info for this collection agency on any of my CR. How do I go about paying them? Should I PFD Dominion power or the CA?
4&5. I have two hospital bills $622 and $967 that were assigned to a CA on Nov/06 that I would like to PFD. Should I go into the hospital's financial office and try to negotiate this off my CR?
I'd really like to know where to start with this long list? Thank God I now have the income to be able to start paying off these amounts (My plan is to pay them all off within 6 months), but I'd like to know which ones should I pay off first and which should I wait on?
Thank you for your help.
