Not exactly what you want but Elements Financial FCU offers monthly EQ FICO 05 with checking.  Soft pull to join last I knew.  They also have a very nice push / pull ACH system  1 day either way and they are in the Co-Op branch network.

Seems that Elements Financial FCU is Chex inquiry sensitive.

Do you know of any other credit unions that are soft pull to join and offer EQ FICO 05?

Thank you!

Hi Workin!  As you likely know, that's the EQ mortgage score.  That score can be very different from one's FICO 8.  Citi's FICO 8 BankCard score is at least in the same FICO 8 family.

If our OP wants the pure FICO 8 Classic, there's a CU that offers it just for having a savings account with them.  Contributor South Jamaica knows the CU's name, though I can't remember it.

Another possibility is that our OP can pull his three FICO 8 scores for a buck at Credit Check Total every now and then.

Vantage West bank is no longer nationwide, it's Arizonians only.

OP, if you don't plan to make any moves soon, you really don't need a monthly EQ FICO8 score, just monitor your EQ on sites like CK, when you see a change there and your curiosity is killing you, pay $1 at CCT and get all your FICO scores.

I'm an Arizonian with banking,  CC, and previous car loan accounts with Vantage West Credit Union and they don't provide any credit scores, and they don't even work with EQ, they have always pulled EX for me.

DCU does provide EQ Fico 5, but I really question if Fico 5 is of much value. While my credit scores have been pretty steady for some time, never moving more than 5 points up or down in the past year & a half despite new inquiries & new accounts, my DCU EQ Fico 5 score has remained exactly the same for over a year, never even a single point variance.  Penfed Provides EQ Fico 9, that one does fluctuate a bit, moving from 703 to 717.

FICO 09 from NFCU

Not sure about how stringent Elements is on Chex INQ's.  The last I knew they were a soft pull however.

I also have DCU with what apparently is also a EQ FICO 05...  but my Elements score last week was 20 points higher than what DCU gave me on the 26th of October.  Nothing really changed in that time so who knows.  I will say DCU changes for me every month.

Thanks so much! Was your DCU a soft or hard pull to join? And approximately when did you join (I understand that it may be a soft pull recently but was a hard pull >1-2 years ago)? Thanks again!

DCU was 2 years ago.   I joined DCU, Elements FCU, CAFCU and NFCU all within a few weeks of each other in September 2016 and was also denied membership by SDFCU at that time.  SDFCU (EX) and CAFCU (TU) were hard pulls.  These were all opened with FICO's in the low 400's. (Now upper 500's)   Looking back at it now, I am surprised they all let me in!  My Chex is and was clean aside from INQ's.

I use DCU, Elements and NFCU for banking and have a secured card and SSL with Navy.  I have been talking with Elements about their secured card but have not apped for it.  They will pull a hard EQ for that if I do decide to go that route.   I do like their ACH system!

I see. Thanks so much for sharing that DCU was NOT a hard pull even two years ago.

Not for me but I have seen differing opinions on that one.

I did have a more recent spree in September of this year that was not so great.  Denied again for SDFCU as well as Unify and Affinity.  All are supposedly automatic for secured cards but denied my entry.  Again clean Chex.  Apple FCU let me in on recon, checking and savings.  My CU plate is full until my FICO's rise and something special comes up in the future.

Right now I get:  EQ FICO 09 from NFCU, EQ FICO 05 from Elements and DCU,  EX FICO 05?  From NASA and PESCU and will supposedly get TU something from Discover.

Thanks for sharing that the hard vs soft credit pull on DCU may be a YMMV situation.

Sorry to hear about all of the denials but glad that you have access to so many free FICO scores!

Thanks...  I researched and researched trying to find CU's with easy secured cards that either graduate or you can at least keep your history after applying for an unsecured.  It is strange that some deny entry for a savings account but have automatic approval secured cards.  Apple is a good one for a secured but am now holding off since they will approve for their unsecured cards with a 580 TU FICO with "an improving credit file".

DCU is too scary for me to try for a secured...  they are all over the map on that one it seems.  But their savings offers 6.17% interest on the first $1,000.00 which must be best in the nation or close to it.  Their ACH system is not too good though as it costs $ to send money to other institutions.
