Where to start?

I have made some bad choice in the past and my credit is trashed. Its actually not due to credit cards or loans. We got hit with like 50K in medical bills that we were unable to pay and it has ruined my credit! Where do I start in getting it rebuilt? I have been working hard to get everything paid off and everything should be off by the end of this year.

Re: Where to start?

Hi Wybow,

Welcome!  Glad you're here and posting!

Everyone differs, but I think the place to start rebuilding is to pull a FICO score here.  You can pull TU or Equifax, either one.

The advantage is that you'll get some feedback on what's on your report.  That makes it less overwhelming.

And you'll get good solid feedback on how to improve your score.

I also like to have a FICO score to measure my rebuilding efforts.

Google "myFICO discount codes" to save some bucks.

And then come back here and share the info you receive.  A good place to share it is in the Rebuilding Your Credit forums.  You'll get lots of exceptional feedback there, including how to handle paid medical bills.

Best wishes!
