Which date to use for the 7 year limit: the original creditor's or the collections?

When calculating the date the account will fall off my credit report, do I use the date the original account was delinquent? What if a collection agency bought the account a year or so later? Does that change the time limit?

the CRTP does not change  no matter how many CA it might be sold to.
