Who to DV.... Cavalry reorting to CRA,...NAFS sending bills (and calling endlessly)

My BF's credit bureau reports show CA as being Cavalry Portfolio Services but the ones that are sending dunning notices, bills, and calling all the time are NAFS (National Action Financial Services)

Any thoughts, advice on which one to DV?  Both???? and at the same time???

Sounds like Cavalry had the debt at one time and reported. Now NAFS is trying to collect because they either bought the debt or was assigned the debt from/by Cavalry or the OC.

If you can pay, now may be your oppurtunity to get it off your reports. Pay NAFS if they agree not to report and then DV Cavalry.

However, you need to make sure that NAFS is not collecting FOR Cavalry.

Check the dunning letters closely for mention of Cavalry or call the OC and see if they still own or who they believe has the debt. Dont mention you know of Cavalry or NAFS.

If the OC assigned the debt to Cavalry and they didn't collect then they may have either sent the account back to the OC who sent it to NAFS to be collected or Cavalry may have bought from OC and when couldn't collect sold it or assigned it to NAFS.

Some OCs will assign to one CA for collecting and if that doesn't work, after so long they will pull back from CA and then sell the debt.

What is DOFD........DOLA.........SOL?

Just checked the bill and it says that NAFS is collecting for Cav.

Now what?

No way to PIF, also well beyond SOL and due to fall off 11/09

I literally just got off the phone with Cavalry and they are deleting a collection account from my bureaus...if the accounts are fraudulent send them the DV letter that was posted here and also send back there fraud package I sent this to them on Saturday and today (they faxed me a paper saying they will be deleting) Here are some contact info for Cavalry

If beyond SOL, DV. This keeps NAFS from reporting until they validate, if they can. Also, DV Cavalry. I DV'd them and they deleted. I don't know if they couldn't validate or just didnt' want to take the time to.

no the account is one he co-signed for but they aren't going after the ex at all, for anything.  Actually they weren't even coming after him til we started to work on repairing his credit

no good deed goes unpunished as they say.

Smooth- You sent back their fraud package? I was concerned doing this might give them information they dont have int he reocrds so they could fight me later.

Long story short... bought a camera from best buy whihc I needed for a school report .. it was defective, returned it, (they didnt have another one) canceled my check so I could go buy it from Circut city. They say I bounced a check with the CRA. I Challanged it through CRA came back verified... they sent me fraud stuff but I didnt fill it out, I sent them a DV this last week so I can see what the heck kind of paper work they have one me.
