Re: Why Experian? Why the fraud alert?

To answer one of your questions above,  it is possible to get a fraud alert removed if there is a confirmation that there was no fraud.

Having an extended fraud alert (7 years) on your report and your reluctance so far to answer questions regarding the basis of the dispute makes it appear that we aren't hearing the whole story.

I'm a long time lurker that received help by reviewing information contributed by the forum members. Folks are repeatedly asking the same questions in an attempt to assist you. Please respect that their personal time & efforts have value, as do data points for others if you ever chose to answer the questions. Thanks

Re: Why Experian? Why the fraud alert?

@JasonK94ZWell if you had enough time to answer 2 posters. You had enough time to answer all our questions. Thats fine. Removing HP's doesnt move the FICO needle much at all. You came to ask. We wanted more details to answer your question. Apparently you dont want to reveal why. So you reap what you sew. Fraud alert placed because you probably mentioned it not directly but the actions you performed called for it.

I did not ask for this fraud alert to be added to my report! I'm in the final stages of credit report cleanup which is having hard inquiries removed. I guess they didn't like that and they gave me this in return. I assume calling them will get this alert removed?

Just call them and ask them to remove it.  They will.  Fraud alerts, whether one year or seven years, are there to help you and you can remove them at any time.   The CRB's can't "punish"  you by adding a 7-year fraud alert.    They did it to help you but it's up to you if it stays or goes.

Re: Why Experian? Why the fraud alert?

As @GreatLife , @FireMedic1 , and @coldfusion rightly pointed out, you don't seem to want to answer rightful questions in the interest of HELPING you.

If you are "cleaning up" your credit reports by asking the bureaus to remove HPs off the reports, on what grounds are you asking for the removal?  There is only ONE answer to that question, and that MUST be that you are claiming that you did not authorize those inquiries yourself, as in SOMEONE ELSE made those authorizations for inquiries fraudulently.  THAT translates to FRAUD.  The alerts were placed to help protect you, not hinder you with bad intent.

Of course, this only applies if you TRULY did not authorize the inquiries yourself. If you are "cleaning up" your reports by trying to remove legitimately self-initiated inquiries just because you have remorse towards having attempted for failed applications, then you have no right to claim "by the letter of the law."  I hope that is not the case here, but seeing as how you were so overly defensive and antagonistic towards all the nice folks who were only trying to help, the thought did cross my mind.

Just know this.  Everyone who participate in these forum are putting their time and effort if they bother to read and respond to your post.  If they had no interest in whatever you had to say, NOBODY would respond to you.  With an attitude like that, it would be sooner rather than later that you will be ignored.
