Why does my credit report only list 48 months of payment history, not 7 years?

My free credit report lists up to 48 months of payments, but I thought credit history goes back 7 years. Is there more there that I can't see?

Thanks!

The rest counts, it is just not shown (lack of space - imagine if you had a 30 year old open and active card  Smiley Happy)

If there was something negative to be reported but wasn't shown because it was old, would it then list the account as adverse?

Presumably - if it was less than 7.5 years old, or 10 years for a BK
