My own theory is that they saw all the money they could make by selling FAKO's to consumers who don't know any better.
The CRA's and FICO have to split the proceeds from sales of FICO scores, so in the department of all-that-matters-is-profit, refusing to let us buy our own FICO's and offering their FAKO's instead would be considered a logical business move, I suppose.
And after they cut off access to our FICO's, there were a lot of posts here saying, well, I might as well start tracking my EX FAKO's, since I can't get my EX FICO's.
That's why I was so delighted when PSECU created an eligibility category for non-Pennsylvanians to qualify for membership and get our EX FICO's once a month. For free!
