Wierd Call

I had a wierd call from a 10000 credit card collection account......The lady with the collection agency said do I own a house and car...I said yes i have a house and 2 cars paid in full she said "great"....I wondering what does that have to do with a credit card collection account?

Never talk to these people on the phone.

Well if they were thinking of suing you- they now know you have assets to go after.

If the SOL is past then you have nothing to worry about. If it hasn't then you have to realize that if you owe 10k somebody is going to come looking for it. It's not like a $100 phone bill.

Yeah, but you might have a paddle! If the debt is out from under the SOL, the CA can still try and sue you but your defense in court will be the debt is past SOL.

How old is the debt?
