Re: Wifes Medical Bill on MY Credit reports!! Is that Possible?!?

Thanks for all the replies, I'm in PA.    And it is my Insurance, but HER bill.    FWIW my Son from my Divorced 1st wife is on my insurance too, yet I'm NOT responsible for HIS Med. CoPays or Deductibles...

Did you sign or guarantee payment - that could be why (and legitimately too).  DH 'arranged' with the hospital before I went in to take care of all of the financial end (okay, I was refusing to be admitted because I didn't wnat the 20% co-pay for inpatient and I WOULD NOT SIGN for financial responsibility - I wouldn't let them admit me).  They got hold of DH and he signed - so when the bill came I made him pay it.

Something similar happen?  Like you did the paerwork while she was being treated?

My actual insurance documments (via employment) state that it is the policy holder who is responsible for payment.  Although children after divorce gets more complicated and I have not read that bit  Smiley Sad

Which means it can go on my CR if I default, but NOT on my DWs

Guys again thanks, and NO I did not do ANY paperwork saying I would be responsible (NEVER Would), however now I'm REALLY Wondering, it IS my Insurance, as I said earlier, but it was also my insurance on my Son's medical bills, that actually hit my Ex-Wifes Credit and not mine (he lives with her)......Oh boy, now I'm REALLY Confused??!!

Re: Wifes Medical Bill on MY Credit reports!! Is that Possible?!?

I would suggest calling the insurance company and asking who is responsible.

I would also DV the CA (they must send paperwork to you with 5 days of contacting you) when you get the paperwork from them with an address.  You could do what I did and call them back (if you still have the number) be a hard A%^ and only ask for the address and refuse to discuss anything else.  But then according to my DH I am a ROYAL F-B when I want to be - so just saying repeatedly "I only want your address" works for me.

Re: Wifes Medical Bill on MY Credit reports!! Is that Possible?!?

Since I already have on MY CR a collection from the same company from me (that I paid), should I call and Offer to pay my Wifes IN FULL if they'll DELETE it, and of course not add the one in question
to either of our's, and Before I pay get a PFD letter from them Faxed to me???

STAY OFF THE PHONE!

You have the address from your CR - send a DV letter.

Many or the rights and responsibilities occur when you actually agree to take the insurance in the first place
