I filed BK in 2003. After the BK the only negative credit was all medical. I have since paid off all medical and have an Orchard Bank Card (2004), 2 Wamu Cards (both in 2008), Beneficial line of credit (2007) and a new Dell account (2008). I pay all accounts on time and in some cases in full each month.
All I have is revolving credit, no installment and have been advised by both myfico and True Credit that I don't have enough credit. I have $17k in available credit and am usuing approx. 35% of that regularly at any given time. Sometimes less but never more. I am trying to get a loan from my CU to purchase a car and in turn have an installment loan reporting to my credit. My ultimate goal is to secure a mortgage in 2 to 3 years.
My question is this, will GW letters work to have paid medical collections and lates for accounts that were included in my BK removed or can I have accounts that were in the bankruptcy removed completely. I know the BK stays on for 7-10 but what about accounts and collections that reported and were included?
If GW letters work for PAID collections, might anyone have a link to a useful sample of a GW letter specifically for that scenario?
EQ - 630
EX - 671
TU - 570
I can't seem to determine why my TU score remains so low.
Any help would be great and thanks for your time!!
Contact the collection company and ask them if they are willing to remove the collection accounts. If they will not then then stay on there for 7 years from the bankruptcy filing date.
NOT HAVING ENOUGH CREDIT-means that the age, how old the accounts are, is not long enough.
On Transunion there is probably one account that is not reporting. So compare all three and see what is reporting on the other two bureaus but not on Transunion.
Again, it is up to the creditor. If you have extenuating circumstances then talk to the collection company about it. It is still never a guarantee. I was able to get some removed but not all.
I'm not an expert on this, but I believe I have read that paid medical collections can be removed through the HIPPA process. Can someone who knows more elaborate for the OP?
