That has a DoFD of 6/2010 so, anywhere between 6/2017 and 12/2017.
Would you recommend paying pieces at a time online on their website? The website is http://convergentusa.com/ and when I tried to create a new account and it prompted me for a Temp ID#, and I'm not sure what that is or even where to find it.
I would hesitate to make payments at all. Depending on your state law, that could restart the suing SOL and if you ever cannot make a payment they may sue you. If you could save up until you could make a lump sum payment would be best.
I would either get a settlement or PIF.
I don't advocate not paying your debts.

And what do you mean by get either a settlement or a PIF? I never done neither so I don't have a clue what they are. Does someone just pick up the phone and call the CA and ask for either a settlement or PIF? First, what are both of them? Second, what does PIF stands for?
A settlement is when you pay a percentage of the total bill.
PIF - Pay In Full.
Depending on the CA, how old the debt is, etc sometimes they will want the entire amount to delete. Some simply will not do it.
I would just write them a letter, and say something like: "You are collecting a debt, account_____. I neither acknowledge nor dispute this debt but in the spirit of compromise am willing to pay ____for a deletion from all 3 CRAs."
Then just wait and see what they say..
