Would multiple credit unions hard pulls get consolidated?

Guys,

I am thinking of opening new credit cards with three different credit unions since my banks did not give more CLI, around 65K for 8 cards. I heard most credit unions do 2 hard pulls for membership and credit card application. My question is "do they get consolidated as one hard pull like auto loans"?

Thanks

Re: Would multiple credit unions hard pulls get consolidated?

I think that it would be credit union-specific here, so I'd recommend calling and asking before joining/apping.  I would think that if their policy is to HP upon joining, they would HP again for a CC app since it's an additional request for credit.  It wouldn't be unheard of though to have them use the same pull, but two pulls would be indeed seen as 2 separate pulls and not lumped together.

If these are pulled by different CU for the purpose of obtaining CC then each hard pull will count. Only in Mortgage Shopping are HP consolidated during the brief shopping period.

The treatment of multiple inquiries as only one for FICO scoring purposes (referred to as "de-duping") applies only to mortgage, auto, or student loan inquiries.  It does not apply to other inquiries to secure other types of credit.
