I disputed a collection on my Experian report, after 5 days I received an email saying: Your original dispute was modified by an Experian Disputes Specialist. If you have provided relevant supporting documentation, you will be notified when a new dispute is opened in light of the additional information you provided.
Normally when you dispute something you have to choose pre-selected options but in my case I said something not in here, there's small box which I you can explain the issue, so I wrote that I can't explain my issue in this small space but I will attach a letter explaining the issue a long my supporting documents which proves that I had zero balance with this company. I uploaded Two documents, the last statement of the account which shows zero balance and also my explanation letter.
Now today I receive this notification which says your orginal dispute has been modified. Why did they modify my dispute, can they even modify it I thought they cannot change whatever the you said.
Perhaps they simply thought your dispute actually DID fit one of their categories, so they modified it to reflect that. Anyway, best way to find out why they modified it is to simply call them and ask.
It doesn't sound like you filled out the dispute correctly so they had to change it.
Just checking to see how this dispute worked out.
Hi, I also received the same verbage from Experian today. They modified my dispute and show dispute is still open and pending. I am not able to read what they changed. Just wondered how your dispute worked out after they modified it.
Thanks in advance, best wishes,
